Hi PL,

In the past you have added maps as references: A Game of Thrones-Map of the North and A Storm of Swords-Map of the North. The maps are then registered as not yet existing articles.
+
Hi Pale Griffin,

Of course the maps are references but officially the maps are copyright. So what are we going to do? I think we have the following options:

I've seen that you've put some "Lady Charlston" is given as Walder River's wife in the gentrees of some articles. I have not been able to find a source for this. * Scan the maps from the book and add them under "fair use". This is the same as the images of the book covers.

* Other option is to change the reference from a link to an article to a hard copy reference. Instead we could add the non-copyright maps which we can change as we see fit, to the articles itself.

:I have found & uploaded a number of maps that are based on a non copyright map that was originally made on wikipedia. The original wik map it is licensed under the GNU which means we can freely use and change it. I used Paint to add a few names of towns & castles. There is currently a map for each region (see for instance the North), and also on of the whole of Westeros: see Westeros.

:NB They are still very basic maps, just the rivers and the place of the town, not very fancy.

:About the spoilers: I guess if we just add geographical info it will not spoil the story. We can start there.

I see that when you created the Red Waste article you wrote that that's where Khal Drogo died, but I think that's wrong. Didn't he died on the Dothraki Sea? The first mention of the Red Waste is in A Clash of Kings. --Dieguez 21:29, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

:If we would want to show for instance the travels of Daenerys then it is different. We should use a different map for those kind of things. We can copy a "normal map" and change it. I believe that on La Guarde de Nuit there were using something that hides the info unless you press it to show it. I'll have a look. Scafloc 18:28, 18 March 2011 (CDT)

Thank you. I am happy the templates worked. Now we can map the whole of Westeros! Scafloc 13:31, 10 April 2011 (CDT)

Hi PG, I did not mean you with my remark. Just wanted to remind some people that the wiki is not a "You shout, we do it" system. If someone has (stong) opinions about the wiki that is great. The worst thing would be if everyone was indifferent. But changes are made by doing things not by shouting to others, like you and me, to change it. I hope the other guys take the hint. Thank you very much for your kind remarks. I had been working on this for a while but was not satisfied with the result. In the end I thought what the heck; I'll just do it. Scafloc 12:28, 11 August 2011 (CDT)

CSS
I tried out some other thing too; I made a personal CSS file.

Using this file allows I can change the layout of the wiki. Currently it is not possible to create a css that works for all users (no authorisation and Rann cannot do it as long as the bridge is not functioning properly). You can give it a try by copying the data from User:Scafloc/iceandfire.css to you personal css file. You still have to set your preferences to "IceAndFire (default | Preview | Custom CSS)". It is really still a first try but I would be grateful for feedback. Especially what we could use as background. Cheers, Scafloc 12:39, 11 August 2011 (CDT)

Don't let them get to you! If all the guy wanted was for the POV character category to include an explanation (of POV character) he would he added it himself! Scafloc 17:45, 16 August 2011 (CDT)

Walder River's wife

Hi Pale Griffin,

I've seen that you've put some "Lady Charlston" is given as Walder River's wife in the gentrees of some articles. I have not been able to find a source for this. Am I missing it, or it's a mistake?--The hairy bear (Send me a raven) 22:22, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

House Strong

In the page House Strong you linked to A Game of Thrones (game) under but showing A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying for the it bring the lord of Harrenhal. They are two different games which is it. --Ser Ash the Red 22:33, 28 November 2012 (UTC)

Khal Drogo's death

I see that when you created the Red Waste article you wrote that that's where Khal Drogo died, but I think that's wrong. Didn't he died on the Dothraki Sea? The first mention of the Red Waste is in A Clash of Kings. --Dieguez 21:29, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
