She 'stole' Jarl, a wildling raider. She was present in the tent when Jon Snow was presented to Mance Rayder.[4] When the wildling host is broken Val is taken prisoner. Stannis offered her hand to Jon in a marriage if he agreed to become Lord of Winterfell but Jon refused.

A Feast for Crows
