Walderan Tarbeck was the last Lord of Tarbeck Hall and head of House Tarbeck. By 239 AC he was already twice widowed with many sons and two daughters from his first two marriages.[2]

History

The widowed Walderan at fifty-five was hastily wed to Ellyn Reyne, the widow of Tion Lannister, supposedly after the widowed Ellyn tried to seduce the already married Tytos Lannister. Tytos was so intimidated by her that he failed to perform and in shame confessed to his wife, Jeyne Marbrand, who in turn informed her good-father Lord Gerold Lannister who quickly arranged the match. They eventually had three children together, two daughters and a son. Walderan had full grown sons and daughters from his first two marriages by the time Lady Ellyn became his wife, some suspect that the Ellyn might have shared her affection with these younger men as well as her old Lord.[2]

When the weak willed Tytos became Lord of Casterly Rock, Walderan and Ellyn's brother Lord Roger Reyne were his most troublesome bannermen. Tytos' heir however, Ser Tywin eventually tried to quell their rebellious ambitions by having Lord Walderan imprisoned. His wife Lady Ellyn took three Lannisters hostage - two Lannisters of Lannisport, as well as Stafford Lannister.[3] Ellyn let Tytos know that she would kill the Lannisters if he harmed her husband. Although Tywin advised to send Walderan back in three pieces, an exchange was arranged by Tytos who intervened.[4]

During the Reyne-Tarbeck rebellion, Lord Walderan, his sons, nephews, husbands of his daughters and his household knights met Tywin's forces on the field of battle near Tarbeck Hall, they were all beheaded. Tywin then descended on Tarbeck Hall with the heads of Lord Walderan and his sons impaled on spears.[2]
