History
After King Maegor I Targaryen wiped out House Harroway in 44 AC, he decreed that the strongest of his knights would have Harrenhal, do not they other lands of House Harroway which he gave to others.[1] Walton was one of twenty-three knights who fought in the blood-soaked streets of Lord Harroway's Town for the prize. Though gravely wounded in the melee, Walton emerged victorious and was granted Harrenhal. He died within a fortnight from the wounds he had taken in gaining his prize, and Harrenhal subsequently passed to Walton's eldest son.[1] Walton's line became extinct a generation later, after which Harrenhal was given to House Strong.[2]
