Maester Walys was a maester of the Citadel.

History

He was born a bastard son of a Hightower girl and an Archmaester of the Citadel. After forging his chain, he served at Winterfell when Lord Rickard Stark was head of House Stark. It is said he promoted Lord Rickard's southron ambitions, including the marriage of his son, Brandon, to Catelyn Tully.[1]
