Recent Events

A Storm of Swords

The brothers of the Night's Watch who defend the Wall during the attack by the wildlings name one of the straw dummies after Watt.[1]

Watt is killed by an axe through his skull at the Battle of the Bridge of Skulls. His corpse is knocked off the Bridge of Skulls by the wildlings, landing in a deep pool of water.[2]

Quotes

Edd: The gods always smiled on Watt, though. When the wildlings knocked him off the Bridge of Skulls, somehow he landed in a nice deep pool of water. How lucky was that, missing all those rocks?

Grenn: Was it a long fall? Did landing in the pool of water save his life?

Edd: No, he was dead already, from that axe in his head. Still, it was pretty lucky, missing the rocks.[2]
