Wonders Made by Man
Wonders Made by Man is one of the two books written by Lomas Longstrider, the famous traveller. This book records nine man-made wonders of the known world, while the second book records seven natural wonders.
About
Confirmed Wonders
In the books, Valyrian roads are mentioned to be listed as the fourth of the nine wonders. Seven other wonders have been confirmed, though in unknown order. They are:
- The Valyrian roads.[1]
- The Wall.[2][3]
- The Titan of Braavos.[2]
- The triple walls of Qarth.[4]
- The three bells of Norvos, Noom, Narrah, and Nyel.[5]
- The Long Bridge of Volantis, the longest bridge in the world.[6]
- The Palace With a Thousand Rooms in Sarnath (now in ruins after the city was destroyed by the Dothraki).[7]
Possible Wonders
Speculatively, fans have considered the possibility of the Hightower of Oldtown, the tallest structure in the Seven Kingdoms, Harrenhal, the largest castle in the Seven Kingdoms, and the Five Forts, a massive fortress along the northeastern boundaries of the Golden Empire of Yi Ti, as being among the other man-made wonders.[8]
A fourth possibility are the ruins of the Great Pyramid of Ghis, which Longstrider is known to have visited.[9] Longstrider is also known to have visited the ruins of the festival city of Chroyane, which he describes in the book.[10] He visited the Summer Isles in search for wonders as well.[11]
