Yorick V Yronwood was the Lord of Yronwood and the last king from House Yronwood in Dorne, until his defeat during Nymeria's War.[1]

As the most powerful of the Dornish kings of his time, Yorick V styled himself as the Bloodroyal, Lord of Yronwood, Warden of the Stone Way, Knight of the Wells, King of Redmarch, King of the Greenbelt, and King of the Dornish.[1]

History

Yorick was the richest and most powerful of the Dornish kings at the start of Nymeria's War, when Lord Mors Martell and Princess Nymeria warred to conquer Dorne. The Martells met and subdued all the petty kings of Dorne, until only Yorick V remained, the greatest of the Dornish kings.[1]

For nine years, the Yronwoods warred against the Martells and their supporters; Yorick's own bannermen included the Jordaynes and the Wyls, as well as the Blackmonts and Qorgyles. In the Third Battle of the Boneway. Yorick V himself slew Mors and Princess Nymeria assumed command of the Martell armies. Two years of battle followed, though ultimately Yorick V was forced to submit and bend the knee to Nymeria, and the Yronwoods became bannermen of House Martell.[1]

After his defeat, Yorick was sent to the Wall to join the Night's Watch, the same fate that befell the five kings that submitted before him.[2]
