Hallyne is a pallid man with soft damp hands.
Hallyne was an acolyte during the reign of King Aerys II Targaryen. He was unaware of the wildfire plot being planned by Rossart and the other alchemists, as according to Jaime Lannister the other alchemists did all the work in secret and did not even trust their own apprentices with the knowledge .
A Clash of Kings
Hallyne does a circuit of the walls of King's Landing with Cersei Lannister. Hallyne guides Tyrion Lannister through the Alchemists' Guild Hall, explaining wildfire and the role of the Alchemists's Guild.
A Feast for Crows
After the funeral for Lord Tywin Lannister, Lord Hallyne promises to put a flaming hand in the sky above King's Landing. He and the other alchemists under orders from Cersei Lannister burn down the Tower of the Hand with wildfire after the wedding celebration of King Tommen Baratheon and Margaery Tyrell.
Cersei considers Lord Hallyne as a candidate for Hand of the King, stating he would not be the first pyromancer to become Hand. Jaime Lannister does not approve of the choice, remembering how he killed the last one, Rossart.
Quotes by Hallyne
