Talk: Edric Dayne
"He is nephew to the renowned Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning, and his sisters, the beautiful Lady Ashara and Lady Allyria, by their elder brother."
I'm not sure what that "by their elder brother" means. Is Edric Dayne the nephew of Lady Ashara and Lady Allyria? Or is it somehow more complicated than that?--Cygnetian 01:33, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Arthur Dayne, Ashara Dayne and Allyria Dayne were siblings, one brother and two sisters. They had, however, another brother, the eldest of the four, whose name we don't know. Edric is the son of this brother. The family tree on Edrics page shows this as well. "By their elder brother" just means that Ashara, Allyria and Arthur had an older brother, who, after the war of the Usurper, had a son named Edric Dayne --Rhaenys_Targaryen 09:31, 30 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation. I will try to clarify the wording, I hope you don't mind. As it is, it's hard to understand what is meant. I think Edric's father might need to be mentioned directly, despite him not having a name.--Cygnetian 04:56, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
