Tree of Crowns

The Tree of Crowns is located in the Disputed Lands. In 258 AC, nine outlaws, exiles, pirates, and sellsword captains—remembered by history as the "Band of Nine"—met beneath the Tree of Crowns as to form an alliance, swearing to aid each other in conquering kingdoms for each of the nine members.[1]
Behind the Scenes
The Tree of Crowns may be a reference by George R. R. Martin to the Oath of the Peach Garden.
Chapter drafts dating back to October 2003 and June 2004 describe the Tree of Crowns as an apple tree.[2]
