Against the Unnatural is a book written by Maester Vanyon. It contains certain proofs of dragons having existed in Westeros even in the earliest of days, before Valyria's rise to power. The work disputes Septon Barth's speculation in his Unnatural History that Valyrian bloodmages experimented with unnatural arts to create dragons from wyverns, as Vanyon, like most maesters, considered Barth's claim to be far-fetched.
