Archons were officials in the Valyrian Freehold.[1]
History
[edit]Archons were provisionally elected by and from the lords freeholder of Valyria.[1] Often dragonriders, archons from Valyria oversaw colonial cities and towns of the Valyrian Freehold,[2] with the exceptions of the self-ruling Free Cities.[3] While the Freehold was destroyed with the Doom of Valyria,[4] the ruler of the Free City of Tyrosh is known as the Archon.[5]
