Knights inquisitor

Knights inquisitor are knights tasked by the Iron Throne to investigate and punish threats.

History

After the fall of King's Landing, Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen sent hunting parties of knights inquisitor in search of the fugitive King Aegon II Targaryen, Princess Jaehaera Targaryen, Prince Maelor Targaryen, Lord Larys Strong, Ser Willis Fell and Ser Rickard Thorne. Rhaenyra's knights inquisitor were also tasked with punishing those who had given aid to the fugitives.

Behind the scenes

The name "Knights Inquisitor" appears to be an obscure reference to Martin's Thousand Worlds short story "The Way of Cross and Dragon", in which a representative of a futuristic sect of Christianity dispatched to root out heresies holds the rank of Knight Inquisitor.
