A Clash of Kings
Bronn informs Tyrion Lannister, the acting Hand of the King, that thirty supplicants await him, including a minor lordling from the Trident who claims that Lord Tywin Lannister's men burned his keep, raped his wife, and killed all his peasants (most likely the work of either the Mountain's men, Amory Lorch's men, or the Brave Companions), so he now wants new peasants and recompense for the destruction done to his land. Seeing the value of a compliant river lord, Tyrion promises to make time for him tomorrow and orders him given good quarters, a meal, and new boots courtesy of King Joffrey I Baratheon.[1]
