Talk: Aegon V Targaryen
From A Wiki of Ice and Fire
If Aegon had the power to knight Tywald Lannister before he became king, that means he was a knight himself, no? Potsk (talk) 12:44, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- I would say so. "Any knight can make a knight" but it seems lords and kings are not required to have being knighted to grant knighthood to someone (e.g. Tytos Lannister was never knighted but ennobled and granted knighthood to the Cleganes). I don't think that "power" extend to Princes as they are not the head of their family. That does not really matter since by the time of the Peake Uprising, Egg was 33 years of age, he had squired for years and fought in the Third Blackfyre Rebellion. Plus, the theme of knighthood is important in the Dunk and Egg novellas. I would be shocked if Aegon was not knighted yet. --Thomaerys Velaryon (talk) 13:40, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
