Talk: House Chyttering

House Chyttering being sworn to Storm's End may have just been a typo. Besides the semi-canon sources before, Lord Chyttering is mentioned by Davos in A Storm of Swords as apparently being resident (or sworn) to Dragonstone, which is evident as the local Dragonstone guards know him. Combine with that the fact that all the Storm Lords were with Renly before Blackwater, so locals guards (who probably don't care much about lords of this or that) aren't going to know a Stormlord they've never seen.

That said, I haven't edited the article yet. Just thought I'd stir up discussion first. Benethon Stark 16:13, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

Well there is certainly conflicting information. I looked on the French site and they noted this as well. Apparently besides Dragonstone and Storm's End the house could also be sworn to King's Landing. I think the best thing to do is note it and ask Ran. With Linda he is writing a book with GRRM so maybe he could check with GRRM.Scafloc 22:47, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
It appears that there is no basis for the claim of it being sworn to Storms End. They are listed as followers of Stannis in the Appendix of A Feast for Crows. Apparently the hairy bear read this as they were from the Stormlands since they are listed near supporters from the Stormlands. There is no list of houses from the Stormlands in A Feast for Crows' Appendix. The heraldry site on Westeros and the web site Hand of The King list them as as from the Crownlands which includes houses sworn to Dragonstone. It is undisputed that their overlord is now Baratheon of Dragonstone and it is most likely that they are sworn to Dagraonstone.

Does anyone object to editing the article to be a House sworn to Crownlands/Dragonstone? Benethon Stark 21:07, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
My preference would be to include them in the Dragonstone section. If the house would be directly sworn to King's Landing it would be less likely to attach itself to Stannis. Scafloc 22:22, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

I am resending the message that I sent to Ser Ash the Red when he questioned why I changed it back to King's Landing.

"I seem to recall on a map that House Chyttering's lands were along the Blackwater and no where near the Narrow Sea. House Massey's lands are on the eastern coast but don't count as a Dragonstone House so I thought Chyttering would most likely be a King's Landing House.

Plus they weren't mentioned in the initial meeting with Stannis and his banners at the beginning of Clash nor were they mentioned to have shunned him which Stannis is likely to point out. They are mentioned only after Renly's death so it is likely they were on the mainland with his forces. Not all men who joined Renly's host were from the Reach or Stormlands; Robar Royce was with him and he comes from the Vale. So it is possible that the Chyttering's ran with Renly when he escaped King's Landing and then joined Stannis after. House Massey even joined him then." User:KCenturion 16:31, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
