Maege's husband

Couldn't it be that Maege took a husband like a "prince consort", so that she is married, but she and her children still have the name "Mormont"? That's common in the reality, for example the Queen of the Netherlands, and if I'm not wrong it's also common in Westeros, for example in Dorne, where a female Martell takes a consort and the line goes on with the name Martell! --Exodianecross 21:07, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Dorne has its own rules, so that can't be compared. Maege had no reason to assume she'd ever inherit Bear Island, so keeping her last name while being married seems unlikely to me. I think it's quite possible that she changed back to her maiden name when Jorah was exiled, to keep the lands in the family by name, not only by blood. --Rhaenys_Targaryen 23:45, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
Yes, that's also possible. Perhaps it will be revealed in the future books! --Exodianecross 01:07, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
