Talk: Martial games

Is "hastilude" really the best word to use for a page collecting these martial games? It's only used once in all of ASOIAF, in THK, whereas "games" (as in "Master of the games") is much more frequent. I'd think "Martial games" (or perhaps "combat sports"?) would work better (as a generic term in the Culture category, like the Customs article and such), with "hastilude" as a redirect (in case anyone looks it up). --Mindset (talk) 09:43, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello, while "Hastilude" is the correct term, I grant you it is not the most adequate word to use in term of general recognition. Of the alternative you proposed, "Games" is a bit to generic and could be confused with children's games like come-into-my-castle or board games like cyvasse. "Martial games" is definitely better. Off the top of my head, I can not find a more appropriate term. Plus we could add the list of martial games to the already exisiting "Template:Games" and that template could be added to the "Tourney" article to gain a bit of recognition. Of course the "Hastilude" article and its redirect should then be redirected to the new "Martial games" page. --Thomaerys Velaryon (talk) 10:09, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
