Enforcement of the Widow's Law

There's one question, how can the "Widow's Law" be enforced or how can a widow claim her rights? My point is that a heir to a noble house could simply force his/her stepmother to give up her rights by threatening her with death if she doesn't accept. Maybe by forcing her to join the "Silent Sisters" immediately after the funeral! Randyll Tarly did something similar to remove his firstborn son, who he considered a disgrace, to replace him as heir with his secondborn son who was in his eyes more suitable. Samwell could nothing else do than to oblige and was rather defenseless. --Exodianecross (talk) 19:04, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

I suppose enforcing the law is a duty of the major lords in every region, as well as of the Lords Paramount and even the King. --Somnium Draconis (talk) 14:51, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
I can see that. But apparently that's also a matter of power and interest! Samwell could do nothing against his father's decision like appealing to Mace Tyrell. So I'm wondering how a widow, a second or third wife, could do anything against the heir of the house if he/she coerces her out and pretend it's her will to leave, join the Silent Sisters or something else! --Exodianecross (talk) 15:52, 2 November 2023 (UTC)
It's a good question! Why not ask on the forums, where you can get many opinions on the subject? --Mindset (talk) 12:30, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
