Editing A Clash of Kings-Chapter 65 (section)

==Synopsis==
[[Sansa Stark|Sansa]] watches from the gallery of the crowded [[Great Hall (Red Keep)|throne room]]. Lord [[Tywin Lannister]] rides his warhorse down the hall, and the animal unexpectedly drops dung before the [[Iron Throne]]. King [[Joffrey Baratheon|Joffrey]] names his grandfather as [[Hand of the King]], a responsibility Tywin accepts until the boy king comes of age. 

Other heroes of the [[Battle of the Blackwater|Blackwater]] are presented before Joffrey, including Lord [[Mace Tyrell]] and his sons, Ser [[Garlan Tyrell|Garlan]] and Ser [[Loras Tyrell]]. Loras is named to the [[Kingsguard]], and Mace joins the [[small council]]. Garlan asks Joffrey to wed his sister, [[Margaery Tyrell]]. The king is already promised to Sansa, but the [[High Septon (Tyrion's)|High Septon]] declares that the betrothal is void because of the rebellion of [[House Stark]]. Sansa is delighted to hear that Margaery will marry Joffrey instead. 

Many of the great lords sworn to [[Casterly Rock]] and [[Highgarden]] receive honors, including Lord [[Paxter Redwyne]] and his sons [[Horas Redwyne|Horas]] and [[Hobber Redwyne|Hobber]], Lord [[Mathis Rowan]], Lord [[Randyll Tarly]], Ser [[Kevan Lannister]], Lord [[Lewys Lydden]], Lord [[Roland Crakehall (lord)|Roland Crakehall]], and [[House Brax|Lord Brax]].

[[Lothor Brune]] is knighted and given land in the [[riverlands]] defeating several [[House Fossoway|Fossoway]]s. [[Philip Foote]] is granted the lands of  [[House Caron]] for having slain Lord [[Bryce Caron]], and is elevated to [[Lord of Nightsong]]. The squire [[Josmyn Peckledon]] is granted equipment and a warhorse, and Goodman [[Willit]] is granted equipment with his sons to be taken into service at [[Casterly Rock]]. 

Ship captains who survived the [[wildfire]] on the [[Blackwater Rush]] are honored, and [[Hallyne|Hallyne the Pyromancer]] is named lord, but given no lands. [[Lancel Lannister|Lancel Lannister]] is named [[Lord of Darry]] and given the land of the [[House Darry|Darrys]]. Lancel and [[Tyrion Lannister]] are not present because of their grave wounds, however. [[Petyr Baelish]] is granted [[Harrenhal]] and named [[Lord Paramount of the Trident]] for negotiating the treaty which brought the [[House Tyrell|Tyrells]] to the aid of [[King's Landing]]. 

Over six hundred new knights are made, receiving their knighthoods from Ser [[Balon Swann]], Ser [[Meryn Trant]], and Ser [[Osmund Kettleblack]] of the [[Kingsguard]]. 

Hundreds of captives are then brought forth, including Lord [[Ardrian Celtigar]], Ser [[Bonifer Hasty]], [[Lord Estermont]], Lord [[Steffon Varner]], Ser [[Mark Mullendore]], Ser [[Ronnet Connington]], Ser [[Dermot of the Rainwood]], [[Lord Willum]] with his sons [[Josua Willum|Josua]] and [[Elyas Willum|Elyas]], Ser [[Jon Fossoway]], Ser [[Timon the Scrapesword]], [[Aurane Waters]], and Lord [[Alesander Staedmon]].

Captives who had switched sides during the battle just have to swear fealty to Joffrey, but those who fought for [[Stannis Baratheon]] until the end must plead their case. A [[bastard]] from [[House Florent]] refuses to accept Joffrey, however, so the king orders Ser [[Ilyn Payne]] to take his head. When another knight accuses Joffrey of being an abomination born of [[incest]], the king accidentally cuts his hand on the Iron Throne in anger. Meryn follows Tywin's order to kill the outspoken knight, and Joffrey is taken away to have his wounds treated. Tywin remains behind to listen to the remaining captives, however.

A happy Sansa returns to her chambers and enjoys her supper when it is brought by a serving girl.

Later that night, Sansa goes to the [[godswood of the Red Keep]] and meets [[Dontos Hollard]], who warns that Queen [[Cersei Lannister]] will keep her as a hostage and that Joffrey will still sleep with her if he so desires, despite his betrothal to Margaery. Dontos is sad because [[Cersei Lannister]] still has plans for Sansa, and her escape will be impossible while the queen is watching. However, Dontos reveals that they will escape during Joffrey's wedding in about a month. He gives Sansa a [[silver hair net]] with [[amethyst]]s in it, telling her "It's [[magic]], you see. It's justice you hold. It's vengeance for [[Eddard Stark|your father]]. It's home."
