==Synopsis== Bronn visits Tyrion, who is recovering from his wounds from the Battle of the Blackwater in Maegor's Holdfast. He finds that much has changed in King's Landing under his father Tywin's rule. He also realizes that his father has seen to it that Tyrion received little of the credit for saving the city. Bronn has been knighted, and now goes by Ser Bronn of the Blackwater. Ser Mandon Moore drowned and Sandor Clegane has fled. Lord Jacelyn Bywater was killed by his own men during the Battle of the Blackwater, and Ser Addam Marbrand has replaced him as Commander of the City Watch. Tyrion's mountain clansmen have been chased out of the city. Some remain in the kingswood, but others return to the Vale. Alayaya was whipped before Cersei allowed her to be freed. Cersei has returned Tommen to the city, and the Kettleblacks, now all knights, are no longer working for Tyrion. Bronn tells about Renly's ghost and Stannis's escape from the battle. Lord Randyll Tarly is being sent to deal with northmen marching on Duskendale. Margaery Tyrell is en route to the capital. Tyrion asks Bronn to learn more about Mandon, trying to discover if his sister sent the Kingsguard to kill him. With the aid of Bronn and his squire, Podrick Payne, Tyrion forces himself to dress so he can visit his father. The drawbridge of Maegor's Holdfast is already up for the night, but Tyrion invokes his father's name to convince Ser Meryn Trant to have it lowered. Tyrion reluctantly asks Bronn to carry him up the serpentine steps. They pass through the outer yard, which is full of men of the Reach. Tyrion encounters Addam on the turnpike stair of the Tower of the Hand. Tyrion's cousin Tyrek still has not been found after the riots in King's Landing, and is feared dead. Tyrion meets with his father privately in Tywin's solar, with Bronn and Podrick waiting outside. The date for the wedding of Margaery and King Joffrey has been set for the first day of 300. Lord Tywin reveals that some battles are won by quills and ravens, and is in the process of composing letters. The Hand tells his son they cannot finish Stannis at Dragonstone until they have the Redwyne fleet available. Ser Helman Tallhart and Robett Glover are marching on Duskendale, but Tywin has sent Lord Tarly and Ser Gregor Clegane to deal with them. Tywin considers the naming of Petyr Baelish as Lord of Harrenhal to be an empty title while the castle is in the hands of Roose Bolton, but Littlefinger did do them good service in negotiating with the Tyrells. Tyrion seeks a little gratitude from his father, but Tywin tells him, "Mummers and monkeys require applause." Ser Arys Oakheart has written about Myrcella being accepted at Sunspear, though Tywin is relucant to turn Gregor over to Prince Doran Martell. Tyrion states that he wants Casterly Rock, as he is heir by rights since Jaime is a sworn brother of the Kingsguard. Tywin will never let Tyrion have the Lannisters's ancestral seat, however. Tywin reveals he had Alayaya whipped because of Tyrion's threats against Joffrey and Tommen, and he warns that he will hang the next whore Tyrion takes to bed.
