Edmure has auburn hair and deep blue eyes, like most [[House Tully|Tullys]],{{ref|AGOT|71}} and he has a fiery red beard.{{ref|AGOT|71}}{{ref|ACOK|39}} Edmure has a stocky build,{{ref|AGOT|71}} and is a head taller than his sister, [[Catelyn Stark|Catelyn]],{{ref|ACOK|39}} but is not as tall as Lord [[Tytos Blackwood]].{{ref|AGOT|71}}

Edmure is fond of smiling{{ref|AGOT|71}} and pretty girls,{{ref|ASOS|49}} but is sulky and sullen when angered.{{ref|ACOK|39}} He is soft-hearted, and protective of his [[smallfolk]].{{ref|ACOK|39}} According to Catelyn, Edmure dislikes singers because one once slept with a girl fancied by Edmure.{{ref|AGOT|28}} According to the singer [[Tom of Sevenstreams]], Edmure once drank too much and was unable to perform in bed, so Tom made a mocking song about a floppy fish. Edmure wears bright mail for battle{{ref|ACOK|45}} and owns flowing blue-and-red{{ref|AGOT|71}} and mud-and-water{{ref|ACOK|45}} cloaks. A [[silver]] [[trout]] adorns the crest of his [[greathelm]] and is painted on his shield,{{ref|ACOK|45}} and he wields a [[sword]].{{ref|ACOK|7}} Edmure owns tunics embroidered with silver fish{{ref|ACOK|39}} or striped in red and blue,{{ref|AFFC|38}} as well as a quilted doublet of red wool with an embroidered leaping trout.{{ref|AFFC|44}}
