[[Coldmoat]] was once the greatest of the four castles of [[House Osgrey]], but was taken from them during the reign of [[Maegor I Targaryen]] because Lord [[Ormond Osgrey]] opposed [[King Maegor's laws]].{{ref|TSS}} At some point afterwards, House Webber became the [[Lord of Coldmoat|Lords of Coldmoat]].

Lord [[Reynard Webber]] once ruled Coldmoat during the youth of Ser [[Eustace Osgrey]].{{Ref|TSS}}

===Lord Wyman Webber===
Lord [[Wyman Webber]]'s sons died in infancy, and his only heir was his daughter, [[Rohanne Webber|Rohanne]]. Lord Wyman was good friends with his neighbor, Ser Eustace Osgrey, although Eustace was somewhat envious of the Webber lands and castle that had once belonged to House Osgrey. Ser Eustace's youngest son, [[Addam Osgrey|Addam]], served at Coldmoat as Wyman's [[page]] and [[squire]], and began a childhood romance with Rohanne. But when Eustace proposed that Addam marry Rohanne, Wyman rejected him; though he was courteous, as Eustace left, he heard Wyman laughing with his [[castellan]], Ser [[Lucas Inchfield]]. Wyman then had the ten-year-old Rohanne married to another of his squires, a twelve-year-old boy.

Animosity built between House Webber and House Osgrey because of this event, and because in the [[First Blackfyre Rebellion]], Lord Wyman was a loyalist supporting "the red [[dragon]]", King [[Daeron II Targaryen]], while Ser Eustace supported "the black dragon", the pretender [[Daemon I Blackfyre]]. In {{Date|196}}, Lord Wyman fought in the [[Battle of the Redgrass Field]] on the side of [[House Targaryen]]. His squire, Rohanne's husband, was slain in the battle, and Rohanne became a widow for the first time at the age of ten. Eustace Osgrey also fought in the battle, on the side of [[House Blackfyre]], and his squire Addam was killed as well. Rohanne wept only for Addam, not for the husband she barely knew; she blamed Ser Eustace for his death, and held a grudge against the [[knight]] thereafter. 

After the Blackfyres were defeated, King Daeron punished the [[traitor]]ous House Osgrey and rewarded House Webber. Lord Wyman and his descendants were granted ownership of the [[Chequy Water]], from where the stream rises in the [[Horseshoe Hills]] to the shores of [[Leafy Lake]]. They were further granted the rights to hunt in Osgrey's forest, [[Wat's Wood]], and to cut twenty trees from the wood each year. Over time, House Webber cleared trees on both banks of the stream to make way for pastures.

Lord Wyman had the thirteen-year-old Rohanne married again to a fifty-five-year-old man, who soon died of a [[disease|chill]]. Six months after his death, she gave birth to their son, who was weak and died within three days. Rohanne's third husband, Ser [[Simon Staunton]], choked to death on a chicken bone, while her fourth husband, Ser [[Rolland Uffering]], died of the [[Great Spring Sickness]]. Rohanne bore a daughter by either her third or fourth husband, but the girl did not live a year. Lord Wyman, still wanting descendants, attempted to marry Rohanne to his castellan, Ser Lucas Inchfield, but she refused him. Wyman's deathbed will then required that Rohanne marry within two years of his death; if she remained unwed after that time, Coldmoat would be granted to her cousin, Ser [[Wendell Webber]]. As Ser Wendell was married to the sister of Lord [[House Rowan|Rowan]], the Webber overlord upheld the will.{{ref|TSS}}

===Lady Rohanne Webber===

A number of rumors were spoken of Lady Rohanne, calling her a [[witch]] and a [[poison]]er who had murdered her brothers, husbands, and children to attain power. They called her "the Red Widow", a title she accepted as the epithet strengthened her reputation, but certain calumnies made her furious. In {{Date|209}}, not long after Rohanne became the Lady of Coldmoat, a [[smallfolk|peasant]] of House Osgrey's villages, [[Dake]], was accused of stealing sheep from House Webber's lands. After twice complaining to Ser Eustace Osgrey, Lady Rohanne had her knights seize Dake and drown him in a sack in Coldmoat's moat. This infuriated Eustace Osgrey, and he also began to slander her. Other issues Lady Rohanne had to deal with in her rule were [[Lord Stackhouse]], who desired the Webbers' Horseshoe Hills, Ser [[Clifford Conklyn]]'s claim to Leafy Lake, and the cattle-stealing [[House Durwell]]. Rohanne's castellan, Ser Lucas, was also a danger, threatening to fight and driving away nearly all the suitors who had dared the rumors to court her. Furthermore, various kin of Rohanne's husbands had come to Coldmoat with her marriages, and remained living at the castle even after the men died, as part of the Webber household, including [[Septon]] [[Sefton Staunton|Sefton]] and Lady [[Helicent Uffering]]. Nevertheless, Rohanne maintained the Webber grain fields and fruit orchards, raising cattle and five hundred head of black-nosed sheep, and bred "the finest [[horse]]s in the Reach".{{Ref|TSS}}

In {{Date|211}}, the second year of a severe [[Westeros#Climate|summer]] drought, Lady Rohanne Webbber had the Chequy Water dammed in order to irrigate Webber lands and fill Coldmoat's namesake moat. However, this blocked the stream from reaching Osgrey lands. This caused a confrontation with Ser Eustace, when his [[sworn sword]], Ser [[Bennis of the Brown Shield]], saw the dam being built and assaulted [[Wolmer]], one of Rohanne's men. Eustace sent Ser [[Duncan the Tall]], another of his sworn swords, to Coldmoat to pay a [[blood price]] for Wolmer, and to request that Rohanne take the dam down. However, Rohanne rejected both offers, and had her [[maester]], [[Cerrick]], show Duncan a document sealed by [[House Targaryen|the crown]], declaring House Webber's possession of the Chequy Water and revealing that Ser Eustace had been a traitorous supporter of the Blackfyres, both of which Duncan was not aware. The conflict between House Webber and House Osgrey further escalated when Wat's Wood burned, and Eustace accused Rohanne or her people of setting the fire. Rohanne denied burning the forest, and demanded an apology; she also did not accept Duncan cutting his own cheek as payment for Bennis's attack on her man. Both Rohanne and Eustace refused to have Lord Rowan judge the conflict, and eventually they agreed to a [[trial by combat]] between Eustace's champion, Ser Duncan, and Rohanne's champion, Ser Lucas Inchfield, who demanded that Rohanne marry him once he won. Duncan prevailed in the combat in the Chequy Water, killing Ser Lucas, but in the process Duncan drowned in the stream; however, Maester Cerrick revived him with the [[ironborn]]'s [[kiss of life]]. Nevertheless, Duncan's valor reconciled Eustace and Rohanne. Eustace allowed Rohanne to enter his lands, and she visited Addam Osgrey's grave at Standfast; when she began to weep, Eustace comforted her. They spent the night talking of their families, and married the next day, which allowed Rohanne to keep Coldmoat.{{Ref|TSS}}

Ser Eustace Osgrey became the Lord of Coldmoat, but it is not known if he became the ruling lord or only a consort to Lady Rohanne: thus, the lands that were under the domain of House Webber may or may not have been restored to House Osgrey. When Ser Duncan the Tall recovered and left Coldmoat, Lord Eustace gave him a parting gift of a Webber sigil brooch of an [[ivory]] spider, with [[silver]] legs and crushed [[garnet]] spots. Lady Rohanne gave Duncan's squire, [[Aegon V Targaryen|Egg]], a gift of a [[palfrey]]{{Ref|TSS}} eventually named [[Rain]].{{Ref|TMK}} She also attempted to give Duncan a place as captain of the Webber guards, and to gift him a [[courser]] mare, [[Flame]], but he rejected both offers.{{Ref|TSS}}

It is uncertain when Eustace Osgrey died, although it was before {{Date|219}}.<ref name="calc">''See the [[Years after Aegon's Conquest/Calculations Ages (Continued)#Eustace Osgrey|Eustace Osgrey]] calculation.''</ref> Lady Rohanne eventually married [[Gerold Lannister]], though whether before or after he became [[Lord of Casterly Rock]] in {{Date|213}} is unknown. She had four sons with him, twins [[Tywald Lannister|Tywald]] and [[Tion Lannister|Tion]], [[Tytos Lannister|Tytos]] (born {{Date|220}}), and [[Jason Lannister (son of Gerold)|Jason Lannister]] (born {{Date|229}}). Lady Rohanne disappeared under mysterious circumstances in {{Date|230}}, less than a year after giving birth to Jason.{{Ref|TWOIAF|7|6|1}}
