With the Lads' forces approaching [[King's Landing]] and Lord [[Cregan Stark]] also marching south on the [[kingsroad]], Lord [[Corlys Velaryon]] advised King [[Aegon II Targaryen]] to abdicate and join the [[Night's Watch]] but was refused.
