Pycelle has only sparse hair that runs around his bald, spotted head.{{Ref|AGOT|20}}{{Ref|ACOK|17}} He has a long, snowy beard that runs down to his chest{{Ref|ACOK|17}} and broad stomach.{{Ref|AGOT|20}} Pycelle often strokes the beard, which hides his small mouth, missing teeth, warts, and wrinkles.{{Ref|AFFC|8}} He has pale, rheumy eyes{{Ref|AGOT|25}} and splotchy pink skin.{{ref|AFFC|8}}

Pycelle's maester's chain consists of two dozen heavy chains wound together to stretch from neck to breast.{{Ref|AGOT|20}} Its links consist of [[brass]], [[bronze]], [[copper]], [[iron]], [[gold]], [[lead]], [[platinum]], [[silver]], [[steel]], and [[tin]], and the chain is decorated with [[amethyst]]s, black [[pearl]]s, [[emerald]]s, [[garnet]]s, and [[rubies]].{{Ref|AGOT|20}} Instead of the grey robes worn by most maesters, Pycelle wears a red velvet robe with an ermine collar and golden fastenings.{{Ref|AGOT|57}}
