The Red Princes were the successors of Prince [[Mors II Martell]], the grandson of Princess [[Nymeria]] and Prince [[Mors Martell]].{{Ref|TWOIAF|Dorne: Queer Customs of the South}}

Their reigns were marked by wars within and around [[Dorne]]. The Red Princes attempted to outlaw the use of the [[Rhoynish language|Rhoynar language]] among the [[orphans of the Greenblood|orphans]] of the [[Greenblood]]. The Red Princes established the [[Planky Town]] as a place of gathering, lashing together poleboats and ferries built by the orphans.
