Tyrosh, a fortress city protected by high walls, is on the northernmost and easternmost of the [[Stepstones]]. Its inner walls are [[Dragonstone (material)|fused black dragonstone]].{{ref|TWOIAF|The Free Cities: The Quarrelsome Daughters: Myr, Lys, and Tyrosh}} Tyrosh is far larger than the shadow city of [[Sunspear]].{{Ref|AFFC|2}}

Tyrosh has a large fleet.{{Ref|TWOIAF|The Free Cities: The Quarrelsome Daughters: Myr, Lys, and Tyrosh}} At the mouth of its harbor lies the [[Bleeding Tower]].{{ref|AFFC|35}} 

In the city lies the [[Fountain of the Drunken God]]. Tyroshi are considered boisterous,{{ref|AFFC|34}} flamboyant,{{ref|ASOS|42}} and greedy.{{ref|AGOT|18}} They love bright colors, [[Hair dye|dyeing]] their hair and beards brightly{{Ref|aGoT|18}}{{ref|TWOIAF|The Free Cities: The Quarrelsome Daughters: Myr, Lys, and Tyrosh}} in colors such as blue,{{ref|ASOS|42}} green,{{ref|AGOT|3}} maroon,{{ref|ADWD|57}} pink,{{ref|AFFC|36}} purple,{{ref|AFFC|45}} scarlet,{{ref|AFFC|26}} and vermilion.{{ref|ASOS|60}} Their hats are considered queer by Westerosi.{{ref|ADWD|62}}

Tyrosh is a merchantile city, where trade is considered a much more honorable profession than arms. Shortly after its founding, Tyrosh quickly grew out into a rich city, due to the discovery of a certain variety of sea [[snail]].{{Ref|TWOIAF|The Free Cities: The Quarrelsome Daughters: Myr, Lys, and Tyrosh}} Tyrosh has at least one bank.{{ref|FAB|A Time of Testing - The Realm Remade}}

Tyrosh is deeply involved in the [[slavery|slave trade]], and Tyroshi slavers are known to be especially aggressive. They even sail north [[beyond the Wall]], in search of [[free folk]] to enslave. Slaves outnumber freeborn in Tyrosh three to one.{{ref|TWOIAF|The Free Cities: The Quarrelsome Daughters: Myr, Lys, and Tyrosh}} [[Sellswords]] are also common in the city.

Pear brandy and baked [[honeyfingers]] are produced in Tyrosh,{{Ref|aGoT|54}} and the city's craftsmen design gilded helms and filigreed armor.{{ref|FAB|A Time of Testing - The Realm Remade}} The fantastic helmets can be shaped like birds and animals and are chased with precious metals.{{Ref|THK}}
