After Prince [[Viserys Targaryen (son of Aenys I)|Viserys Targaryen]] was tortured to death by [[Tyanna of the Tower]] in {{Date|44}}, King [[Maegor I Targaryen|Maegor I]] abandoned his nephew's mutilated body in the courtyard of the Red Keep for a fortnight in an unsuccessful attempt to force his mother [[Alyssa Velaryon]] to return.{{Ref|TWOIAF|4|3}}
