[[Daenerys Targaryen]] sees Haggo with Khal [[Drogo]] when she comes to [[Drogo's manse]] in [[Pentos]].{{ref|AGOT|3}} As a gift at [[wedding of Drogo and Daenerys Targaryen|their wedding]], Haggo gives them a large leather whip with a silver handle.{{Ref|AGOT|11}} Daenerys is frightened by Haggo.{{ref|AGOT|36}}

When [[Viserys Targaryen]] bares steel during a feast in [[Vaes Dothrak]] and threatens Daenerys, Drogo orders his [[bloodrider]]s to seize him. Haggo shatters Viserys's wrist while the others pin and disarm him.{{Ref|AGOT|46}}

Haggo is distrustful of [[Mirri Maz Duur]] when the ''[[maegi]]'' is taken captive at a [[city of the Lamb Men]].{{ref|AGOT|64}} The bloodriders blame Mirri for Drogo's festering wound, and Haggo strikes her in the face.{{ref|ADWD|64}}

When Daenerys intends to have Mirri heal Drogo using [[bloodmagic]], his bloodriders intend to stop her. As [[Rakharo]] and Haggo duel with their ''arakhs'', [[Jhogo]] intercedes by lashing his whip around Haggo's throat. The bloodrider falls to the ground, and Rakharo swings his blade between Haggo's eyes, killing him.{{Ref|AGOT|64}}
