==History==
It was rumored that Lady Frey was married off after her younger brother, [[Walder Frey]], caught her having intimate relations with a servant, a scullion at the [[Twins]]. The story was told that they were found in the kitchens on the [[marble]] slab where dough is rolled out, both naked and covered in flour.{{ref|TMK}}

Lady Frey wed Lord [[Ambrose Butterwell]] at [[Whitewalls]], and during the feast the couple used a sword to cut open a large wedding pie and release the dozens of birds within it. Ser [[Duncan the Tall]] was volunteered by Ser [[John the Fiddler]] to carry her from the great hall to Ambrose's bedchamber as part of the [[bedding]] custom. Men made ribald jokes about "flouring her up and kneading her well" while they disrobed her, and Duncan became attracted to the new bride.{{Ref|TMK}}

During [[wedding tourney at Whitewalls|the tourney]] thrown to celebrate the marriage, Lady Butterwell's hair was limp from perspiration and she appeared uncomfortable and bored. When Duncan, competing as the Gallows Knight, greeted Lord and Lady Butterwell before his joust, the girl pushed out her chest in an attempt to impress the [[mystery knight]]. When her cousin, Ser [[Addam Frey]], was unhorsed by Ser [[Uthor Underleaf]], Lady Butterwell fainted and had to be helped back to her new chambers.{{Ref|TMK}}

As a result of the failed [[Second Blackfyre Rebellion]], Ambrose was stripped of Whitewalls by Lord [[Brynden Rivers]], and the [[Hand of the King]] allowed Lord Butterwell to keep his new bride and only a tenth of his fortune.{{ref|TMK}}
