Biter is one of three known criminals imprisoned in the [[black cells]] of the [[Red Keep]].{{Ref|AFFC|8}} Yoren recruits him for the Night's Watch, but considers him so dangerous that he keeps him chained in a [[wagon]], along with [[Jaqen H'ghar]] and [[Rorge]], for the journey to the [[Wall]].{{Ref|ACOK|1}} Outside an [[ivy-covered inn]], [[Arya Stark]] forces herself to approach the wagon after Rorge insults her. When Biter reaches for her, Arya punches him between his eyes, enraging him. Biter follows Rorge in laughing at a mortally-wounded, [[one-armed woman]].{{ref|ACOK|9}}

When Yoren's band is [[Storming of the Gods Eye town holdfast|attacked]] at the [[Gods Eye town|Gods Eye]] by raiders led by Ser [[Amory Lorch]], Biter and his companions find themselves trapped in the wagon in the middle of a fire. Arya, before escaping herself through a tunnel, throws them an axe which Rorge uses to break through the wagon's bottom.{{Ref|ACOK|14}}

Biter and his two companions, Rorge, and Jaqen, join Amory's raiding party for a time, eventually arriving at [[Harrenhal]]. Arya sees half-healed burns covering Biter's hideous body.{{Ref|ACOK|30}}

The three men remain in the garrison holding Harrenhal after [[Tywin Lannister]] departs the castle. They help Arya free the captive [[northmen]] during the [[fall of Harrenhal]], though Rorge and Biter do it reluctantly and only because Jaqen requested their help. Biter cracks the necks of Lannister guards after they have been splashed with boiling broth, and he begins chewing the hand of one of the fallen. With Amory's men slaughtered, Rorge and Biter join the [[Brave Companions]].{{ref|ACOK|47}}

Rorge tells the captive Ser [[Jaime Lannister]] that Biter chewed the breasts and nipples off a [[septa]] sometime during their foraging and pillaging as part of the Brave Companions.{{Ref|ASOS|21}}

After the death of [[Vargo Hoat]], leader of the Brave Companions, Biter travels with Rorge alongside remnants of the Companions and participates in the [[raid on Saltpans|sacking of Saltpans]]. Biter eats the breasts of a woman after she has been repeatedly raped by the outlaws.{{ref|AFFC|31}}

At the [[inn at the crossroads]], after Rorge duels with and is slain by [[Brienne of Tarth]], a shrieking Biter quickly overpowers Brienne and begins savagely biting her face. He is stopped by [[Gendry]], who drives a spear through the back of his neck, killing him.{{Ref|AFFC|37}}
