[[Arya Stark]] goes missing after her [[direwolf]], [[Nymeria (direwolf)|Nymeria]], attacks Prince [[Joffrey Baratheon]] along the [[Trident]]. King [[Robert I Baratheon]]'s royal party stays at [[Darry]] uninvited during the search for the girl. The king appropriates Raymun's audience chamber, sitting in his high seat,{{ref|AGOT|16}} as well as his bedchamber.{{ref|AFFC|30}} Raymun keeps his emotions guarded when Arya is eventually brought before Robert.{{Ref|AGOT|16}} Raymun is not formally mentioned as "[[Lord of Darry]]", but Lord [[Eddard Stark]] thinks of him as the castle's [[lord]].{{ref|AGOT|16}} It is possible that [[Lord Darry (father of Raymun)|Raymun's father]] was still alive, having retired from active rule in the years after [[Robert's Rebellion]], with Raymun being the ''de facto'' lord.<ref name=retirement/>

Ser [[Gregor Clegane]] leads raids across the [[Red Fork]] of the Trident.{{ref|AGOT|43}} [[Hoster Tully]], [[Lord Paramount of the Trident]], sends Raymun, Ser [[Marq Piper]], and Ser [[Karyl Vance]] to [[King's Landing]] with the survivors of [[Sherrer]] to ask the permission of King Robert to retaliate against the raiders. Eddard, [[Hand of the King]], sends Raymun with [[Beric Dondarrion]], [[Lord of Blackhaven]], to execute Gregor.{{Ref|AGOT|43}}

When the [[brotherhood without banners]] list the victims of House Lannister to [[Sandor Clegane]], [[Tom of Sevenstreams]] mentions "Ser Raymun Darry, Lord Darry, young Lord Darry".{{ref|ASOS|34}} It is unclear if "Lord Darry" and "young Lord Darry" refer respectively to Raymun's unnamed father and son Lyman, or if Ser Raymun is also being called Lord Darry.

Maester [[Ottomore]] has Ser [[Jaime Lannister]] stay in Lord Darry's own apartments in the [[Plowman's Keep]] when the [[Lord Commander of the Kingsguard]] visits [[Darry|Castle Darry]]. Jaime notices that Raymun's sumptuous bed in the lord's bedchamber is gone, with Lancel instead keeping a lumpy straw pallet by the window.{{ref|AFFC|30}} 

Jaime recalls that his brother [[Tyrion Lannister|Tyrion]] had found portraits of all of the kings from [[House Targaryen]] in Darry's cellar; Raymun had removed the tapestries for King Robert's visit to the castle.{{ref|AFFC|30}}

While practicing in the castle's [[godswood]], Jaime recounts to the mute Ser [[Ilyn Payne]] that he had slept with his twin, Queen [[Cersei Lannister]], in Raymun's bed after a drunken Robert had passed out on the floor.{{Ref|AFFC|30}}
