In the [[cave of the three-eyed crow]] [[beyond the Wall]], [[Bran Stark]] and his companions [[Meera Reed|Meera]] and [[Jojen Reed]] meet a remnant of the children of the forest, who serve the [[last greenseer]], Lord Brynden. Their names are too long for the human tongue, according to [[Leaf]], so Bran and Meera give them names. Meera names Snowylocks for the color of her hair. Bran does not know what Snowylocks thinks about her new name.{{Ref|aDwD|34}}

When Brynden says it is time for Bran to awaken his gifts as a [[greenseer]], Leaf beckons, and Snowylocks brings forth a [[weirwood]] bowl carved with a dozen faces, like the ones the [[heart tree]]s wear. Inside the bowl is a white [[weirwood seed paste]], thick and heavy, with dark red veins running through it. Snowylocks hands the bowl to Leaf to give to Bran to eat.{{Ref|aDwD|34}}
