While [[Yoren]] and his band of [[Night's Watch]] recruits travel north from [[King's Landing]], they come across [[Weasel's village|a village and holdfast]] which have been raided during the [[War of the Five Kings]]. Yoren, [[Murch]], and [[Cutjack]] investigate the ruins and emerge with a little girl and a [[one-armed woman]] who dies soon after.{{ref|ACOK|9}} [[Arya Stark]] hopes that [[Shella Whent]], [[Lady of Harrenhal]], might be able to care for the child.{{ref|ACOK|14}}

At an unnamed [[Gods Eye town]], the girl eagerly eats [[goose]] given to her by [[Hot Pie]].{{ref|ACOK|14}} The settlement comes under attack by Ser [[Amory Lorch]] and his band of [[westermen]], and Arya and [[Gendry]] help the traumatized girl through a secret tunnel to escape the [[fight at the holdfast]].{{Ref|ACOK|14}}

The crying girl stops whimpering, so [[Lommy Greenhands]] starts calling her Weasel because of her appearance.{{ref|ACOK|19}} The girl is unafraid of eating bugs, and she kicks Hot Pie.{{ref|ACOK|19}} When the youths are discovered by the [[Mountain's men]], Weasel hears the soldiers coming and runs off into the woods. She is not found again.{{Ref|ACOK|19}}

While imprisoned and forced to serve at [[Harrenhal]] by [[House Lannister]], Arya takes the name "Weasel" for her own.{{Ref|ACOK|26}}
