House Darklyn's coat of arms remembers the seven Darklyn knights who served in the [[Kingsguard]], more than any other house.{{Ref|AFFC|9}}<ref>The Citadel. * Ser [[Robin Darklyn]], known as Darkrobin. He became one of the first [[knight]]s of the Kingsguard when the order was founded by King [[Aegon I Targaryen|Aegon the Conqueror]] in {{Date|10}}.{{Ref|TWOIAF|The Targaryen Kings: Aegon I}}
* Ser [[Davos Darklyn]] was a member during the reign of King [[Maegor I Targaryen]].{{Ref|FAB|The Sons of the Dragon}}
* Ser [[Steffon Darklyn]], the uncle of [[Gunthor Darklyn]], was the [[Lord Commander of the Queensguard]] for [[Rhaenyra Targaryen]].{{Ref|FAB|The Dying of the Dragons - The Blacks and the Greens}}
* Ser [[Rolland Darklyn]] joined the sworn brotherhood on a battlefield, and died an hour later. He was the youngest member to serve in the Kingsguard until Ser [[Jaime Lannister]] joined at age fifteen.{{Ref|AFFC|16}}

Furthermore, in {{Date|133}} Ser [[Robert Darklyn]] was briefly a Kingsguard under [[Aegon III Targaryen]] until his appointment was annulled by Lord [[Unwin Peake]], as the twelve-year-old king had not properly consulted with his [[Regent|regents]].{{Ref|FAB|Under the Regents - War and Peace and Cattle Shows}} It is unknown whether House Darklyn included Ser Robert in the count.
