==History==
Long Jon Heddle took over the [[inn at the crossroads]] when he retired from adventuring. He also took up [[iron]]working, and forged a sign in the shape of a three-headed [[dragon]]. The black iron sign would clank in the wind, and gave his inn its new name, the Clanking Dragon.{{Ref|AFFC|37}}

In {{Date|196}}, when Long Jon's son was an old man, the [[First Blackfyre Rebellion]] broke out. Lord [[House Darry|Darry]], who was a fierce [[House Targaryen|Targaryen]] supporter, saw the inn's sign and thought it resembled the [[coat of arms]] of [[House Blackfyre|the rebels]] (a three-headed black dragon on a red field), so he cut it down and hacked it to pieces.{{Ref|AFFC|37}}

The inn at the crossroads remained in the hands of Jon Heddle's descendants for several generations, including his son and later [[Masha Heddle's grandfather]].{{Ref|AFFC|37}}
