House Manderly

House Manderly of White Harbor is an ancient house from the North with its origins on the Reach.

A thousand years ago the Manderlys lived at the banks of the mighty river Mander, but they were driven away and were welcomed by the Starks of Winterfell as their own bannermen. Due to those origins, they are the only noble house from the North of Andalish origins and customs, and thus they follow the Faith instead of the Old Gods.

Eventually, they became the lords of the White Harbor, previously inhabited by pirates that were driven out by Jon Stark. The White Harbor is the only city in the North, and a main port for commerce and naval transport.

Their blason is a white merman with dark green hair, beard and tail, carrying a black trident, over a blue-green field. Their motto has not yeat appeared in the books.

The Manderly House at the end of the third century

The known Manderlys during the timespan of the events described on A Song of Ice and Fire are:

Lord Wyman Manderly: Lord of the White Harbor. An obese lord more thant sixty.
- Ser Wylis Manderly: His firstborn. Heir to the White Harbor. A fat knight, quite and formal, bald and with a walrus mustache.
  - Wynafrid Manderly: His young daughter.
  - Wylla Manderly: His young daughter.
- Ser Wendel Manderly: His secondborn. Loud and boisterous, bald and with a walrus mustache.
- Ser Marlon Manderly: His cousin.

A Manderly army, leaded by Ser Wylis and Ser Wendel, joins Robb Stark at at Moat Caitlin when marching south against the Lannisters. Their force consists into about 20 knights with their squires, 2000 ounted lances, swordsmen and freeriders, an undetermined number of foot armed with spears, pikes and tridents.
Ser Wylis Manderly is captured by the Lannisters at the Battle of the Red Fork.
Lady Hornwood was bornt a Manderly; an argument Lord Wyman used to claim her late husband's lands.
