Aegon Targaryen, the first of his name, also known as Aegon the Conqueror or Aegon the Dragon, was the conqueror of the Seven Kingdoms and the founder of the ruling Targaryen dynasty of Westeros.

Biography

As was custom among his family, he married both her elder sister Visenya and his younger sister Rhaenys. From the seat of Dragonstone, he planed for years the conquest of the Seven Kingdoms. When he was prepared, he and his sisters landed with their dragons at the continent of Westeros, at hills that would become the city of King's Landing, and from there Aegon leaded the Targaryen army from victory to victory.

He died 37 years after setting foot on Westeros. There is not information available about the circumstances of his death, neither it is known whether he was survived by any of his sisters or appointed a successor.

Appareance

In a non-canon letter, George R. R. Martin described Aegon I as tall, powerful, broad shouldered, and very charismatic and commanding, with his hair cut short and wearing his sword Blackfyre and a crown of Valyrian steel set with big square-cut rubies.
