Ser Addam Frey was a member of House Frey during the reign of Aerys I. He was distantly related to the main branch, being only a cousin to the daughter of Lord Frey. He was considered a promising lance in his youth.[1]

Ser Addam attended the marriage of Lord Ambrose Butterwell and his cousin, Lady Frey. He participated in the Whitewalls Tourney, where he was unhorsed by Ser Uthor Underleaf.
