The mountain clans are a primitive culture of the Vale of Arryn.

There are numerous constantly feuding clans:

Black Ears: So named for their habit of collecting enemy ears. Led by Chella, daughter of Cheyk.
Burned Men: So named for their coming-of age ceremony, in which they burn their own flesh. Led by Timett son of Timett, known for burning out his own eye.
Milk Snakes
Moon Brothers
Painted Dogs
Sons of the Mist
Stone Crows
