Is it specified in text that the spear is bendwise? If not I think we should assume it's upright, as in File:House Martell (pre-Nymeria).svg. Potsk (talk) 20:55, 17 August 2023 (UTC)

- As far as I know, every depiction of the Martell coat of arms - including the Citadel and official art - shows the spear bendwise. Even if it is not specified in text, I would not discard this fact. The Wondering Wolf (talk) 12:36, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
- In the Citadel the description does not specify that the spear is bendwise (A red sun pierced by a golden spear on orange), but it's bendwise in the image. --Somnium Draconis (talk) 13:24, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think that is what I said by using the word 'depiction'. These images were all presented to GRRM and changed when he was not happy with one, so the fact that the spear is bendwise there indicates that he wants it like that. The Wondering Wolf (talk) 13:39, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
