Song of the Sea: How the Lands Were Severed is a book written by Archmaester Cassander. In the book, Cassander argues that the Breaking of the Arm of Dorne was not shattered by the children of the forest's greenseers with the Hammer of the Waters, but rather covered by the Song of the Sea, a slow rising of the oceans over centuries, caused by a series of long, hot summers and short, warm winters that melted the ice in the frozen lands north of the Shivering Sea.[1]
