Tourmaline Brotherhood
The Tourmaline Brotherhood is a powerful guild of merchant princes within Qarth. They battle for prominence in the city with the Thirteen, the Ancient Guild of Spicers, and the Pureborn.[1] The Brotherhood owns approximately eight hundred ships.[2] According to Xaro Xhoan Daxos the Brotherhood is full of pirates.[1]
Recent Events
A Clash of Kings
The Tourmaline Brotherhood gives Daenerys Targaryen a crown wrought in the shape of a three-headed dragon, the symbol of House Targaryen. The coils are made of yellow gold, the wings are made of silver, and the heads consist of jade, ivory, and onyx.[1]
After the destruction of the House of the Undying, the Brotherhood calls openly for Daenerys's expulsion from Qarth.[2]
A Storm of Swords
After the siege of Meereen, Daenerys wears the crown she received from the Tourmaline Brotherhood.[3]
