Tybald is a maester of the Citadel in service to the Dreadfort.[1]
Appearance
Tybald is a red-haired and round-shouldered man with close-set eyes. He wears a heavy bearskin pelt over his grey robes.[1]

Arnolf Karstark brings Tybald with him when he joins Stannis Baratheon's host, to tend to the ravens and the wounded. Upon learning of House Karstark's planned treachery, Stannis has Tybald brought before him in the crofters' village, knowing that Tybald is in fact the maester of the Dreadfort, not Karhold. Aware that Stannis knows of his allegiance to House Bolton, Tybald is so fearful he evacuates his bladder in Stannis's presence and confesses that Arnolf had him send a map of the current location of Stannis's army to Lord Roose Bolton at Winterfell. Stannis orders Tybald imprisoned until he decides what to do with him.[1]
