Alyssa Blackwood was a noblewoman from House Blackwood, and the fourth wife of Lord Walder Frey.^[2]

History

Alyssa married Walder Frey after his third wife, Lady Amarei Crakehall, died in 264 AC.^[2]^[3] Alyssa and Walder had five children together: Lothar, Ser Jammos, Ser Whalen, Morya, and Tyta Frey.^[4]

Explaining his lineage, Big Walder Frey tells Bran and Rickon Stark that his father was a son of Lord Walder Frey by his fourth wife,^[5] Alyssa Blackwood.^[2]

Before the Red Wedding, Lothar Frey introduces Raymund Frey to Catelyn Stark and claims they shared a mother,^[6] but Lothar is the son of Alyssa Blackwood, while Raymund is a son of Amarei Crakehall.^[2]

Lord Tytos Blackwood mentioned to Ser Jaime Lannister that his son Lucas was slain at the Red Wedding, even though Lord Walder's fourth wife had been a Blackwood. He notes that kinship counts for nothing at the Twins, no more than guest right.^[7]
