A Feast for Crows
Captained by Old Tattersalt, Blackbird carries Samwell Tarly, Dareon, Maester Aemon, and Gilly to Braavos. Cotter Pyke explains to Maester Aemon that they chose the Blackbird to carry him to Braavos because although Storm Crow and Talon are faster, they are not as good in storms because the rowers sit on open decks.[1] They encounter storms on their way, however. Aemon falls ill during the journey, and is weak once they arrive in Braavos.[2]
A Dance with Dragons
Maester Harmune reports to Lord Commander Jon Snow that Blackbird and all hands have been lost during Cotter Pyke's expedition to Hardhome.[3]
