Chiswyck is a man-at-arms from the westerlands. He is one of the Mountain's men in service to Ser Gregor Clegane.
Appearance and Character
Chiswyck is old and stoop-shouldered[2] with a scraggy grey beard.[3]
Chiswyck has a sadistic temperament that he masks with an outwardly jovial personality.[2] He thinks he is funny[2] and often tells funny stories.[3]
The man-at-arms wears cold dirty chainmail.[4]
Recent Events
A Clash of Kings
Chiswyck is one of the Mountain's men, the soldiers of Ser Gregor Clegane, who capture Arya Stark, Gendry and Hot Pie in the riverlands. When Arya tries to bite Chiswyck, he hits her in the face.[4] He sometimes aids the Tickler in torturing the smallfolk.[2] For this, Arya adds Chiswyck to to her list of those she hates and wants to kill.[2]
At Harrenhal, Chiswyck boasts about how he participated in a gang rape of Layna, an alehouse owner's daughter, laughing as he recalls the details. After overhearing this, Arya whispers his name into the ear of Jaqen H'ghar as the first of her three promised deaths. Three days later, Chiswyck falls off the wallwalk to his death, with some men believing he was flung down by Harren's ghost.[3]
When Arya watches Lord Tywin Lannister and his host depart Harrenhal, she realizes that she has been targeting the wrong people and regrets having given the names of Chiswyck and Weese to Jaqen.[5]
A Storm of Swords
When Edric Dayne reveals that he has never killed anyone, Arya thinks of all those who have died by her hand, but she is not sure if Weese and Chiswyck counted.[6]
