Cosgrove was the steward of House Butterwell during the reign of King Aerys I Targaryen.
History
During the wedding tourney at Whitewalls, Cosgrove acted as the master of the games. Ser Duncan the Tall sent his squire, Egg, to meet with Cosgrove and enter the hedge knight in the lists as a mystery knight called the Gallows Knight.[1] Ser Uthor Underleaf bribed Cosgrove for favorable matches.[1]
Cosgrove was reluctant to admit Ser Glendon Flowers to Lord Ambrose Butterwell's feast within Whitewalls, insisting that Ser Quentyn Ball did not have a son and disregarding Glendon's claim of having been knighted by Ser Morgan Dunstable. Ser Kirby Pimm spoke with Cosgrove, however, and Glendon was eventually allowed to attend the feast. [1]
