The Lord of Harmony is a god worshiped by the Peaceful People of Naath.[1]
Beliefs
The Lord of Harmony, regarded as the only true god by the Naathi,[1] is often represented as a laughing giant, naked and bearded and attended by swarms of slender maidens with butterfly wings.[2] He is said to have made the moon, the stars, and the earth, as well as all creatures.[1]
It is believed that the sacred butterfly spirits, handmaids of the Lord of Harmony, protect Naath against those who would do the isle harm.[2] Many conquerors have sailed to Naath, but all of them sicken and die from butterfly fever if they stay overlong.[1] Maesters theorize that the sickness is caused by actual butterflies on the island, however.[2]
There is a wooden hall dedicated to the Lord of Harmony in Braavos which has windows of leaded glass, showing half a hundred kinds of butterflies in all their bright colors.[3]
